Role of Emotional Intelligence in Enhancing Job Satisfaction and Job Resilience: Empirical Evidence from a Kerala Media Organization

The satisfaction of a journalist depending on many factors like woekplace stress,personal life stress,salary,benefits,working hours. The challenges at the workplace negatively affects the journalists as well as the organization. The ability of the journalists to cope up with the challenges is the resilience.The resilience of the journalist improves the satisfaction.Emotional intelligence is the construct which improves the job resilience and satisfaction.It is the ability to recognize,manage and regulate emotions,play an important role in journalism.The study aims to investigate the role of emotional intelligence in engancing job satisfaction and job resilience among women journalists. It was a cross-sectional study.The target population was the women journalists who are working in Kerala.The study was performed on 320 women journalists.The participants were enrolled by stratified random sampling via distributing thr questionnaire,the dissemination of the questionnaire is through email as google form.The correlation and regression method was used to analyse the data. The study revealed that a statistically strong positive correlation was observed among variables. The resilience, workplace stress,emotional intelligence affects job satisfaction.Thus the organizations need to promote methods to improve emotional intelligence and resilience to improve the working and wellbeing of women journalists
