Health is an important aspect of life. Though physical health is given a lot of importance and consideration, mental health is still a topic that is widely untouched and considered a stigma. The decline of mental health comes from stress and anxiety that is caused by societal pressures, the feeling of having no purpose, constant negative thoughts, or being in a negative environment, and/or the feeling of not keeping up to one's own or society’s expectations. This research paper studies the mental health situation of people in India, the stress and anxiety faced by different social groups, such as the youth and people in the working sector, and the need to eliminate the stigma in society. It also focuses on how mental health is slowly gaining the awareness and significance that it requires, while also suggesting ways to channel a stressful state of mind and attain peace. The study also portrays the importance and true meaning of life that many may have forgotten in today’s fast-paced world. To complete this research, secondary data is used.
