The government's efforts to foster innovation for the expansion of entrepreneurship and sustainable development are discussed in this article analyses the current innovation environment, its difficulties, and the government's initiatives to promote it with an emphasis on this new policy initiative. Despite having a sizable educated population and a sizable publicly backed scientific and technological infrastructure, India has not been able to realize its potential for innovation due to a fragmented innovation environment. The two most important steps the Indian government has taken to strengthen the innovation ecosystem are the National Innovation Council, whose role it is to coordinate various innovation-related activities, and the new Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy 2013, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and science-led solutions for sustainable and inclusive growth. With a focus on this new policy Endeavour, this essay examines the current innovation ecosystem, its challenges, and government initiatives to support it.
